HS-2000 Mobile Studio |
The HS-2000 is a hand carried, mobile studio that simplifies the workflow of any HD-SDI production venue using up to 5 inputs by combining 1 or 2 DVI-D computer sources and 3 or 4 HD-SDI sources. Based on the SE-2000 switcher, the HS-2000 features a 17” LCD (LED Backlit) monitor to display the multiview output. Also included is a built in 4 channel audio mixer and a 5 channel wired intercom with headsets, tally lights with the intercom belt packs.
Program output may be recorded on a digital video recorder such as the Datavideo HDR-40/50 and
monitored on the LCD screen. Character generations may be done with the Datavideo CG-350 software (not included). Powerpoint presentations can be played through the HS-2000 from your computer if it is connected to the DVI input. Operating the HS-2000 is fast because every control is right on the work surface – no shifts.
The aluminum case is a good combination of light weight and protective strength. As with all Datavideo products, the HS-2000 works on 12vDC or local power.

General
Q: Does the HS-2000 have frame delay?
A: Yes, the HS-2000 has a single frame delay. It is approximately 17 milliseconds.
Q: Can I freeze the frame on an input and dissolve to a live input?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: Can I use a VGA to DVI adapter to connect my laptop to the HS-2000?
A: The HS-2000 is a HD switcher, which requires all inputs to be digital. The DVI connector on the HS-2000 is a DVI-D type, which only accepts digital signals. If a VGA to DVI adapter is used, the signal is not converted to digital but is simply gender changed to a DVI-I (analog) signal type, which the switcher will not accept.
Q: Can I connect my camera to the HS-2000 via HDMI to DVI-D cable?
A: Yes, you can.
Audio
Q: Does the HS-2000 have embedded audio?
A: No, the HS-2000 does not have embedded audio.
Troubleshooting
Q: The HS-2000 is freezing when I switch from 720p to 1080i modes and vice versa with a DVI cable attached to one of the inputs. Is there a way to fix it?
A: You must disconnect the DVI inputs from the switcher before changing modes on the HS-2000.
